BoxLox™

BoxLox™

BOXLOX™ BOX ANCHORING SYSTEM

  • No top box tipping
  • Improve stability for partially full boxes
  • Even better long term stacking strength

BoxLox™ Box Anchors are a unique system of clips that are only available with DrawerBoxes™. The clips attach the sides of the shells to each other, creating a unified bank in which each DrawerBox stabilizes the other. When a drawer on the top level is pulled open, it is held in position by the others without requiring something on top of it to counterbalance it.

And when BoxLox are used on the lower boxes, the clips will provide more stacking strength by securing the sides of the shells to each other and keeping the sides of each level centered properly above the sides of the unit below. This ensures that the support sleeves create a column, transferring the weight of the stack to the floor.

But we have not forgotten about the loyal customers that have already purchased DrawerBoxes in the past. Boxlox require heavier cardboard to work properly and DrawerBoxes have always been manufactured with heavier weight material to provide extra strength. Because of this, existing units can be easily modified to accept the BoxLox and we have templates we can make available upon request.

We think these improvements will ensure that DrawerBoxes will remain the best storage system available for storing your collection. Why would you accept any substitute?

HOW MANY BOXLOX™ DO I NEED?

The BoxLox™ Box Anchors are sold separately since how many each person uses depends on their configuration. Each pack connects 2 DrawerBoxes side-by-side (Never top-to-bottom!) If you just want enough to keep the top unit from tipping (the lower units are counterbalanced by the one above), you need one less BoxLox™ pack than the number of rows across. However, we have found they provide other benefits as well such as keeping the entire array more stable by preventing slippage if a unit is only lightly filled and increase the long term stacking strength on the lower units. To use them throughout multiply the number of rows high they are stacked times one less than the number of rows across. For example, 30 DrawerBoxes™ stacked 5 high could use 25 BoxLox.

CAN THE DRAWERBOXES™ BE SEPARATED WHEN BOXLOX™ ARE USED?

The BoxLox™ packs are designed to be semi-permanent, but there is a way to disconnect them. All you have to do is slip the fingers of both hands between the connected shells by the BoxLox™ anchor and give them a good hard yank apart. The BoxLox™ will pop apart. Since we use a heavy weight cardboard the shells will withstand the pull. Most of the time the clips will be fine and can be reused. However, once in a while a leg on one will crack off. But since the BoxLox™ are inexpensive they can easily be replaced if that happens.

If all you want to do is relocate the DrawerBoxes™, an even easier solution is to simply remove all the drawers. The each row of shells can then be easily moved to wherever you want and the drawers reinserted.
